Just wanted to let you know that my blog has officially moved to:
It’s had a little makeover – with the new branding for my little crafty business – it will include many new special weekly features and still have the old ‘things I love’ sections and fun things like that. It will also be about 50% less personal, and 50% more business/design focused.
A silly little post today…
My cat, Tank, is a rescue kitty.
He’s as sweet as can be, but very skittish, cannot meow normally, and he’s more than a little bit daft. We love him anyway.
Today, as he was rolling around on the rug beside my office chair trying to get my attention, I tried to snap a few pictures – he was being so cute. My other cat, Zoey, will let you photograph her all day. She always holds very still and gives me the cutest poses. Tank, however, has no idea what you’re doing and seems to actually wiggle more when you get the camera, because though he’s being as cute as he knows how, you’re still not scratching him, and are instead pointing a little black box at him that flashes and hurts his eyes.
Here’s what I got.
Just thought I’d share a giggle with my fellow cat lovers. 🙂 TGIF!!
I’ve blogged about my love for the girls of Red Velvet Art and their amazing blogs before… Well. I just finished Elsie’s (of “A Beautiful Mess“) newest E-Course, Blog Love. I really enjoyed it, and learned so much. It was great reading about her ups and downs in this industry, and she’s basically the coolest. If you’re serious about branding yourself, and using your blog to it’s full potential, I highly recommend taking her little course.
One of the other Red Velvet Girls, Rachel of Smile and Wave, also has a new e-course called Modern Patchwork. The photos of the projects you learn in the course look so, so cute, and I can’t wait to try it! Right now on her blog, she’s giving away three free spots in the course! So get over there and enter! (Shameless plug for contest entry here. Ha!)
In other happy news… I ordered my WEDDING DRESS today!!! I can’t wait to get it. If it doesn’t fit I might cry. Just kidding. Probably. I keep reminding myself that the most important part of all this is the actual ‘getting married’ part, but creating the wedding, and all the pretty things that make up the design has really been a lot of fun. 🙂 Happy Thursday everyone!
Well it’s Friday. January 14th. The first month of the new year is almost half over. How does this happen? This is why I don’t usually make resolutions.
My closets aren’t cleaned yet, my Christmas decorations are *kicks dirt* shamefully still not put away, and I still have WAY too many wedding details that still need ironed out… However, I am doing well with the diet/exercise stuff, I’m in Florida, where while it’s not all that warm at the moment, the sun is out, and the palms are gently swaying, and I’m trying to just generally be healthier and happier this year. I have a lot to be happy about! Even if the wedding is a total unorganized disaster, (Which of course it won’t be.) We’ll still have fun, and I’ll be married to my penguin. 🙂 Plus, I can’t wait for the honeymoon cruise!
My goals for this weekend are: *Update*
Plan food, groomsmen/bridesmaid attire and gifts for the wedding with E. Get the Christmas tree down, and out the door, decorations stored in the attic Get the house reset and decorated for the next holiday… Go to Fort De Soto, measure tables, get more postcards. Go flea-marketingand hopefully find some vintage leather belts for a little project I’m working on, (E got me wine crates! I can’t wait to turn them into something cool!) and some more blue mason jars for my wedding. (No luck on that stuff, E got a really cool pirate sword for his renaissance faire costume though!) Wedding invitations finished, addressed, and ready to mail next week.
- Make boutonnieres for the guys/dads in the wedding. (We didn’t quite get around to deciding what the guys are going to wear. There’s still time for this.)
Have lots of fun with E and the kiddos.(Only had one kiddo this weekend, but we still had fun.)
*deep breath* I can do this. We’re going to a Star Trek collectibles trade show and a live performance tonight. Can’t wait! (It was a disappointment, but we made the best of it.)
Have a great weekend blog-friends. Live long, and prosper. 🙂
So you’ve all probably seen this already, but I just thought I’d share.

Have a good week everyone!
I’m back! Happy New Year everyone. I hope you had an amazing holiday season! A pesky snow storm kept me from visiting my family back home. But, we got to have Christmas morning with the kiddos, a beautiful 75° sunny Christmas day, and then an evening playing Fable III. (Fun game! I had 12 kids by the end. Ha!)
I also got my Fuji-Instax 7s camera… which I’ve been wanting FOREVER, and I have had so much fun with it. There are so many cute things to do with the little pictures. And I have an extra special use planned for it on my wedding day.
New Year’s Resolutions:
I don’t usually make new year’s resolutions, because honestly… most people forget about them before January is even over. However, this year my life has a lot of moving parts… and I think that if I don’t have written goals, the little things I aspire to do will get buried under the things I ‘must’ do.
I’ve decided to make small, manageable weekly goals – ranging from giving up sugary sweets, to reading a book from my list, to signing up for a couple of classes I’ve been wanting to take, to cleaning out my closets. Also, just as a little side note… I’M GETTING MARRIED in 80 days! So some big ones include being the best wife and stepmom that I can possibly be. I will, of course, be sharing my successes with you here on my blog as the year goes by. 🙂
I’ve also joined a fun little project, called Project Restyle – featured on A Beautiful Mess. You should join too!
Well that’s it for today, I hope everyone is having a great week! 🙂
Well, all the gifts are wrapped, the house is clean(ish,) and I have all this happy-nervous energy that I can’t seem to get rid of.
I have the family Christmas thing lined up with E and the kiddos, then we’re traveling to WV to visit. So in case I don’t get another chance to say it, We wish you and yours a very, merry Christmas (Or what-ever Holiday you celebrate) – and a prosperous new year.
I’m taking a quick blog-break until after the Holidays. S0 I will see you next year! 🙂
